1. What is the purpose of the fence? Will it be for aesthetics, pet or child containment, privacy, security, pool enclosure, equestrian, or property boundary delineation? Different fence types compliment different purposes. Be sure the type and style you select will serve its purpose.

2. How do we determine the fence layout? Surveys, property stakes, and plot diagrams can assist in determining how to layout your new fence. If you select Fortress Fencing as your fence builder, a layout appointment will be set to define the layout of the fence. Your Fortress Fencing specialist can assist in explaining layout details. A good rule to use is to place the fence posts no less than six (6) inches inside the property boundaries. This eliminates any question as to whose property the fence is located on. Remember better safe than sorry.

3. What are my homeowners association (HOA) ordinances governing fence styles and specifications? Usually neighborhoods have covenants that provide guidelines for layout, style, and height specifications. This information is generally covered in the homeowner's packet you received when purchasing your home. Most neighborhoods require approval before the installation begins. Your Fortress Fencing specialist can help by providing a Contract for Construction that details the type, style, material specs., layout, etc. This can be submitted directly to the HOA.

5. What grade of materials are used to build my fence? Fortress Fencing uses at least a Number 2 grade or better pressure treated wood. All aluminum, vinyl, and steel fence materials surpass government standards for quality and durability.
